Meet Shannon Gordon

Shannon has been practicing exclusively family law in the KC Metro area since 2010.  She prides herself on her pragmatic, straightforward approach, and consistently prioritizes cost-savings measures while still providing effective counsel.  Shannon’s direct approach ensures the best likelihood of a positive outcome through the court process, while at the same time maintaining reasonable expectations. She commits herself to delivering honest, upfront advice in a way that’s easy to understand.

Shannon is an experienced litigator. In addition to serving as private counsel, Shannon is a highly sought after Guardian ad Litem.  In this role, she is appointed by presiding judges and commissioners to represent the best interest of a child in cases where abuse or neglect is at issue.   She is frequently appointed in cases throughout numerous local counties, including Jackson, Clay, Cass, and Johnson. Shannon is also a qualified family law mediator.

Shannon is currently the President of the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association and sits on the Board of Directors for Mother’s Refuge, a homeless shelter for pregnant and parenting young mothers.  She is also a longtime Board Member of Jackson County CASA, the Eastern Jackson County Bar Association, and is a Women’s Justice Award Recipient. Shannon has been featured by "Super Lawyers" since 2017, and has been named to the POWER 30: Missouri Lawyer Weekly's 30 most powerful family law attorneys since 2020.
