Katie Clayton grew up in the Kansas City area, before attending the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

From there, Katie worked in the Order of Protection Unit for Jackson County, before pursuing her legal education at the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Law.

After graduating Cum Laude with her Juris Doctor degree, she went on to clerk for a judge in Jackson County where she gained an invaluable perspective of family law.

Katie likes to approach her cases with empathy, but also with logic derived from her exposure to the other side of the bench.
